Doctoral School of Medicine and Health Sciences at Vilnius University is organizing biannual 6th International Conference “Evolutionary Medicine: How Evolutionary Thinking Can Contribute to Medical and Health Sciences”. This conference is dedicated for PhD students and other junior researchers from various fields of science (not only medicine and health or natural sciences, but also social, technological sciences and even humanities), as well as undergraduate students, to participate in this interdisciplinary scientific event and share research, also develop scientific communication and cooperation in solving medical and other health-related problems.

Venue: Vilnius University, Universiteto str. 3, Vilnius.
This scientific event will be organized in a direct, contact manner, with live participation. In the case of an oral presentation, only live participation will be possible. Virtual participation will be possible only in case of choosing e-Poster presentation or participation without presentation (then it will be possible to passively listen to other presentations). All posters submitted to this Conference will be published as e-Posters (including brief comments in MFEG-4 Video format), which can only be viewed by registered participants after receiving a password. The possibility to present an e-Poster on site is not foreseen.
Invited key-note speakers will give 35-45 minutes lectures. PhD students, junior researchers and undergraduate students are invited to participate with shorter oral (podium) or e-Poster presentations. In addition, PhD students are invited to choose also a Science-Slam presentation (short presentation of research topic in the attractive and understandable to a diverse audience style), which we offer in our Evolutionary Medicine Conferences for the first time (one credit of general competencies will be assigned for these presentations).
All PhD students, young researchers and undergraduate students can register to attend this Conference for free. They would be able to attend plenary and other sessions, listen to lectures of key-note and other speakers, also to participate in social networking program. We kindly invite to participate also supervisors of doctoral students, other scientists, administration representatives and others (all participants from Vilnius University can attend this Conference for free).
Organisers believe that this scientific event will encourage doctors and other specialists to think globally in order to better understand the mechanisms of human body diversity, adaptation to a constantly changing environment and possible disease mechanisms from the perspective of human evolution.
